Zelenskyy: Iran Already Attacking Ukraine by Arming Russia with Drones and Weapons

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Iran of directly contributing to the war against Ukraine by supplying Russia with combat drones, missiles, and other weaponry used in strikes across the country. He said Iran’s military support has already resulted in civilian casualties and widespread destruction of critical infrastructure.

Zelenskyy stressed that Iran’s involvement is not limited to political alignment with Moscow but constitutes active participation through the transfer of weapons deployed on the battlefield. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly reported the use of Iranian made Shahed drones in attacks targeting cities, energy facilities, and military positions.

“Iran is Already Attacking Ukraine”

In his remarks, Zelenskyy said Iran’s actions amount to direct aggression against Ukraine, noting that every drone launched by Russia but manufactured in Iran contributes to the ongoing devastation. He urged the international community to increase pressure on Tehran to halt its military cooperation with Moscow.

Growing International Concern

Western governments have condemned Iran’s weapons transfers, warning that the partnership is prolonging the conflict and enabling Russia to sustain large scale strikes despite sanctions and battlefield losses. Several countries are considering additional measures aimed at curbing Iran’s drone production and export networks.

Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s call for tighter sanctions, expanded air defense support, and coordinated international action to disrupt the supply chains feeding Russia’s war machine. He emphasized that stopping Iran’s weapons flow is essential to reducing the intensity of Russian attacks and protecting Ukrainian civilians.
